Sarah Fischer

Sarah joined the office of Disability Resources and Services at Pitt in 2022 as a Disability Specialist. She is responsible for meeting with faculty and staff to evaluate documentation to determine eligibility for accommodations, as well as working with employees and their respective departments to identify reasonable accommodations for their position. She has worked in various roles supporting individuals with disabilities for over 15 years, which has provided her with the tools necessary to establish rapport and better understand the needs of those she assists. Sarah received a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in counseling and minor in sociology from Carlow University and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a certificate in assistive technology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
